Edison loves to play games, tell jokes and ride his bike! He always has a smile on his face and he has a creative imagination when he plays. At 7 years old, he’s one of the children waiting for a permanent, loving family.
The teachers and staff at Edison’s school love him! He quickly learns inside and outside of class, and he enjoys problem solving. Sometimes school can be overwhelming for him, especially with the busyness of the mornings and afternoons. But with the staff’s help, Edison receives the aid he needs.
Edison follows a set schedule with ease. It’s also more comfortable for him to have structure within his daily activities. When he’s with his family, Edison benefits from one-on-one interactions in order to build strong relationships and be comfortable around others.
He also has ongoing medical conditions that require some dietary restrictions, daily medications and procedures. A 504 plan at school is also needed to help Edison thrive in the classroom.
Edison is originally adopted from China but is now located in the U.S. His adoptive family will need to travel to his current state for a minimum of four days to transition.
The best fit for Edison is a permanent family who can help him feel safe, loved and cared for. They should also have knowledge of older child adoption and be able to provide the therapies and resources that he needs.
