Hi everyone! I’m Sara and I was adopted from China when I was 11 months old. I grew up in New Jersey and went to Holt camp as a camper when I was growing up! I was a counselor last year, and I’m SO excited to be on staff again this year! I am graduating this year from Saint Joseph’s University, and will be attending Rutgers in the fall to pursue my MSW. Some of my favorite things are food, dogs, naps, music and talking about adoption. I can’t wait to see new and returning campers and have lots of fun this summer!

Hi, my name is Sophie and I attended Holt camp for six years in Oregon. I am currently a junior at Portland State University and will be graduating next year with a degree in Health Studies: Health Science for Pre-Nursing. I was adopted from China when I was 20 months old. I have two siblings who are also adopted. I enjoy traveling with friends and meeting new people! I’m excited to be a camp counselor this year. I am looking forward to sharing my experiences, as well as having the opportunity to meet the campers.

Hello — My name is Hannah. I am from Oregon, where I was adopted from Seoul, South Korea when I was 8 months old. I have attended Holt camp for about six years as a camper, counselor in training (CIT) and counselor. I graduated from the University of Oregon with a major in humanities and a double minor in Arabic and Korean. Now, I work in a multicultural center at a local college. I love studying languages, hiking, cooking and traveling. Some places I have traveled to include Jordan, Oman, South Korea and Japan, and I can’t wait to explore more places! This summer, I am excited to be on the Holt Adoptee Camp leadership team working with the special program. Holt camp really brought me to a community of adoptees I never had before. So, shaping a space for any adoptee of any age to engage about adoption and get to know other adoptees is super exciting. I am especially eager to get to know more adoptees, their families and their stories!

This will be my third year as Holt Adoptee Camp director and I feel so grateful to be part of such an impactful and fun program. I was adopted from Korea when I was 9 months old and grew up in Oregon. Since then, I have grown to love places that aren’t humid and get overly excited whenever the sun is out. By the time camp starts, I will have just graduated with my master’s degree in social work, which is really, really exciting! Some things that I like are food, coffee, playing games on my Nintendo Switch, my dog, Star Trek, hiking, Holt camp and more food. See y’all this summer!!

Hi, my name is Breanna Linder! I am the special programs coordinator this year at Holt camp. I am a domestic adoptee born in southeast Michigan. I come from a family of six children, four of whom were adopted from the foster care system (including myself). I graduated from Spring Arbor University with a bachelor’s degree in social work and I just finished my master’s degree at Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan. Some things that I love include having meaningful conversations, laughing and exploring new cultures. This is my third summer with Holt and I am very excited for another great season of connecting with fellow adoptees.

Hi everyone! My name is Trent Jones. I am 20 and I am from Council Bluffs, Iowa! I go to college at a private school called Mount Marty College in Yankton, SD and plan to become a teacher in the future! I was adopted from Teagu, South Korea when I was 5 months old. I started going to Holt camp when I was 8 and was a camper for eight years. Then, I was a CIT for a year! I enjoy going on adventures, joking around, eating food (ice cream is my favorite), working out, sports, music, and of course, Holt camp!! I can’t wait to meet all of you and make some great memories this summer!

Hi all! My name is Elizabeth and I was adopted from China when I was 14 months old. I grew up in Southern California, but went to school in the Bay Area at UC Berkeley. I just graduated with a degree in gender and women’s studies and am eager to get back to school to pursue a graduate degree in social work and women’s studies. I have spent the last year living and studying in Paris, which has only whet my appetite for travel! My other passions include cooking, reading and spending time with my family. This will be my first year as part of the Holt camp staff, and I’m so excited to meet other adoptees. While I grew up in a relatively diverse area, I have never spent much time talking to other adoptees. I’m eager to learn from all of the diverse experiences we have to share and make memories with you all!

Hi all! My name is Tori Fyfe. I am a junior at Central College in Pella, Iowa and majoring in sociology with minors in psychology and non-profit management. I was adopted from Xiamen, China at 10 ½ months and I grew up in a small town in northern Iowa. I love spending time with family and friends, traveling and reading! This will be my first time as a Holt staff member. Adoption has been a subject that has been very close to my heart for as long as I can remember. Understanding all that adoption encompasses is a continuous process and I am so excited to participate in that process with campers and staff! I cannot wait to begin creating wonderful memories and relationships!

Hey guys! My names is James and I am 18 years old. I was a Holt camper for 7 years. I was adopted from South Korea and I currently live in Los Angeles, California. Fresh out of high school, I will be continuing on to hopefully becoming a pediatric nurse practitioner. Some interesting facts about me: I am obsessed with Apple and I love technology, I point out every Tesla I see on the street hoping that one day I’ll own one, and I buy way too many clothes. I can’t wait to meet everyone and finally be a counselor!

I graduated from Rutgers University with my BA and am currently pursuing an MA at New York University. My research interests include Asian American Studies, diaspora, race and ethnicity, and adoption studies. In my spare time, I like to read, practice modern calligraphy, and catch up with friends over bubble tea. I’m so excited to return to camp this summer and hope to reconnect with old friends while making new ones

Hi! I’m Mani and I’m an Indian adoptee from Portland, Oregon. I’m currently working towards medical school and spend a majority of my time working and volunteering. During my free time, I enjoy eating spicy food, running, hiking and drone photography. This will be my third year with Holt camp and I feel fortunate to have met and connected with adoptees from all over the country. I’m looking forward to spending one more summer with you all! Actually, what I’m especially looking forward to is hiking elective and all the improv games at E².
