Palmer is a responsible and friendly 14-year-old boy who will soon age out of adoption eligibility. It is urgent that we find a family for Palmer before he turns 15 and loses his chance to join a family through international adoption.
Palmer has the natural ability to care for others, which can be seen in multiple aspects of his daily life. On his school’s soccer team Palmer plays the defender position. At the orphanage, he helps the younger children with homework and he often volunteers to help with chores. Palmer looks out for his friends, and is willing to walk them home from school if they don’t have a bicycle.
Palmer has finished the eighth grade and loves subjects that require memorization such as history and geography. English is a challenging subject for Palmer, but he can say some simple phrases including “hello,” “how are you?” and “what’s your name?” He always follows the rules at school and the orphanage without having to be reminded.
Dancing and drawing are some of Palmer’s favorite activities. He also loves watching action movies, reading stories and going to the beach.
Palmer has seen his friends go home to adoptive families and wants to be adopted himself. He needs an experienced family that has a good understanding of grief and loss and once he’s home, they need to be willing to connect him with his friends who have already come home to families.
