Jaylenn is an adorable and joyous 5 year old boy little boy!  He was transferred to Ilsan Center from foster care in January 2015 due to their greater medical resources.   A neurology consult in 2013, revealed Jaylenn has Rt. Pachygyria, a congenital malformation of the cerebral hemisphere. Due to this condition, he walks with a slight gait.  He has weaker strength in his left hand, but it doesn't keep him from picking up toys and playing. He was also exposed to prenatal use of tobacco and alcohol. Jaylenn is currently in Kindergarten and is noted to adjust well in programs. He receives physical and speech therapy twice a week. Despite his earlier balance issues he thrives on physical activities with agility and grace. He is reported to be very active, curious, and can get bored easily if not stimulated. He enjoys playing with friends, going on outings, and watching television. Jaylenn has experienced several losses in his life - including his birth family and the caregivers he was initially placed with. Given his multiple losses, the right family for Jaylenn will be patient, persistent and willing to access the resources needed to ensure a secure attachment. His family should also be comfortable with the unknowns regarding his brain anomaly and developmental delay and be able to provide him with any medical care or therapies he may need. Numerous Holt International staff have met this happy little boy. Please read our recent blog post about him:
