This is a handsome older boy who came into care at birth. He was born premature, low birth weight, and had sepsis. He is delayed in all areas, but is showing some improvement with therapy. He also has alternating esotropia which may need surgery. He joined his foster family in April 2006 and appears to be attaching well. His favorite time is when his foster family eats dinner and watches TV together. He reportedly loves to imitate singers on TV, dance to music, and "jam" with his foster brothers. According to his foster mother, he can verbalize his needs and wants, and can follow instructions, especially at home. He gets along well with the children in his neighborhood, and is described as active and playful. He is also known to be inquisitive, wanting to know about the things and people around him. He has a short attention span, and often needs reminders of what he should be doing. He waits for a family who has parented past his age, who is knowledgeable about older child adoption, and who is comfortable with his delays. Keywords: Vision Impairment
