Volunteers will engage face-to-face with concertgoers to raise awareness about Holt’s cause, inform them about Holt’s child sponsorship and adoption programs, and most importantly, invite and sign them up to sponsor a child. Signing up child sponsors is the primary goal of all volunteers. By growing Holt’s pool of sponsors, you also help grow the number of vulnerable children Holt can serve around the world. We hope that each volunteer will strive to sign up two or more new sponsors per event!
During the registration process through the day of the show, please direct all questions to Alycia Fahr-Zarlons, Holt's volunteer coordinator. On concert day, you will contact Holt's on-site tour representative, Dan Lindsay, as needed. You will meet Dan and receive his contact info just prior to the event.
On the day of the concert, you will receive a text message with the location of the Holt volunteer entrance and how to find it as well as a digital volunteer pass. It is very important that you go to the correct entrance on time, so please allow time to navigate parking and crowds.
Once you find the Holt volunteer entrance, you will present your volunteer entry pass for access (hard copy or digital version accepted). You will then be directed to the location of the on-site training. Our Holt tour representative, Dan Lindsay, will provide you with the materials you need and will assign you to a section of the venue. If you get lost, go to the arena floor and ask for a Holt representative.
The number of people attending Winter Jam concerts averages 10,000-20,000 per venue. To recruit as many new sponsors as possible, it is crucial that we have enough volunteers to work with such a large crowd!
Our best window of opportunity to actively sign up sponsors is during the 15-minute intermission!
We regret that Holt is not able to provide parking vouchers for volunteers. We encourage you to please visit the links below for your concert venue's directions and parking information. There are a few venues where parking fees may apply, so please check this ahead of time.

Please note that Holt requires all participating volunteers be age 16 or older. However, we do make a special exception for Holt adoptive parent volunteers who wish to bring up to two of their own children (younger than 16) to accompany them for free. For other volunteers who would like to bring minors, we offer the option of requesting approval to allow someone to enter through the volunteer entrance with you by paying the $15 fee in cash on arrival.
Winter Jam concerts are family-friendly events and suitable for all ages to attend. If you are not eligible or interested in volunteering but want to simply attend the concert, you may either wait in line and pay $15 per person at the time of entering the venue, or visit this website to pre-purchase tickets through a JamNation membership.
We suggest that all volunteers join Holt's online community and register for the event independently, so we can handle all communications directly. You can still volunteer together by letting our tour rep know on-site that you are a group who would like to work together!
However, if someone is unable to register separately, you may account for them as a “guest volunteer” within your own registration. This means you as the group leader will be responsible for managing all the training and preparations needed prior to arrival. All participating volunteers must be 16 or older. Please engage guest volunteers whom you know you can depend on. Before adding your members, talk with them about our sponsorship program and why it’s important to sign up new sponsors. Use Holt’s website or videos to help them understand how their work and actions will directly impact the children we serve. Then, create and maintain a current list of names, email addresses and cell numbers for all of your guests.
We realize that your guest list may change. We plan to check in with you the week before the event to ensure we have a current total number for you and your group. Please feel free to contact the volunteer coordinator, Alycia Fahr-Zarlons at firstname.lastname@example.org, with any questions you may have about eligibility, training or preparation
Registered volunteers can edit the number of guest volunteers on their registration by logging in to the Holt online volunteer community. View your Dashboard and click on the volunteer event group link. At the top of your event group page, you will see a link to edit the total number of guest volunteers for your registration. As an alternative, you can also contact Alycia Fahr-Zarlons for assistant with changes or cancellations. We ask that all changes or revisions to the group be completed by the Wednesday prior to your concert.
Contact us and we will help you get set up! We prefer all Holt volunteers (registered or guests) join the Holt volunteer community as that ensures access to current volunteer opportunities, training and notifications about events. However, if you don't have access to the community, or if you are bringing guest volunteers that you want to help prepare for the effort, then please direct them to this webpage where they can learn everything they need to know before volunteering!
