Prevent the closure of adoptions from Vietnam to the U.S.
The current Memorandum of Agreement (MOU) between Vietnam and the U.S. expires September 1, 2008.
Unless a new agreement is in place before September 1, adoptions from Vietnam to the U.S. will close—and the children and families currently in the adoption process are at risk.
It took more than 2 years to negotiate the last MOU and we cannot let that happen again to the children in Vietnam.
We urgently need your help. Ask your Congressional Representatives to support immediate negotiations for a new adoption agreement between the US and Vietnam.
Here’s how you can help:
Contact your Congressional Representatives and urge them to to support immediate negotiations for a new adoption agreement between the US and Vietnam.
You can directly access your Congressional Representative by clicking here. A standard letter is included - please add your own comments to personalize the end of the standard letter .
(Here is a link to some general guidelines for communicating with elected officials.)
Attached is the "Vietnam Child Rights Campaign" document providing additional detail of the issues and recommendations to ensure adoptions from Vietnam continue.
Thank you for helping children in Vietnam come home to their families.
We will update Holt’s website when there is new information on this crisis. |
