Holt may be able provide you with a copy of your child’s documents from your U.S. file. This is usually the same information provided to you during the adoption process. Documents can be lost over time, and Holt is happy to help you replace these valuable pieces of history. Please click here.
Due to the current climate surrounding relinquishment in India, especially in cases of an unwed mother, Indian agencies typically will not conduct a search for birth parents, nor will they release any identifying information. To read more about this and how it applies to your child, please click here.
Proving U.S. Citizenship is becoming an issue for many adoptees, and Holt would like to help you solve any issues you or your child may be encountering, including issues with Social Security or U.S. passports. We may be able to determine their citizenship status, provide document copies, and help replace lost certificates. Please click here.
If you are considering a visit to India and would like to visit your child’s orphanage or our partner agency while you are there, please contact Holt first. Depending on the orphanage or facility, we may be able to assist. Please click here.
Everyone needs an empathic listener and expert advice sometimes. One of our social workers can assist you in determining what resources you may need and how to go about obtaining them. We want to help. Please click here.
Holt knows how important it is for adoptees, adoptive families, birth families and foster families to maintain a connection. Even if birth/foster families aren’t known, adoptees and adoptive parents can have a letter and photo placed into the child’s file in case birth family or a foster family ever contact Holt.
