Holt's Response to China Center for Adoption Affairs' (CCAA) May 15th Announcement
The China Center for Adoption Affairs (CCAA) announced today that it is temporarily delaying travel to China for adoptive families due to the current risk of Sudden Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS).
The CCAA will delay only the portions of the adoption process related to families traveling to China. Families who already have their travel approval from China may proceed with their travel plans, however, the CCAA recommends that families delay their travel if possible.
The current global situation due to SARS is unprecedented and changing constantly. Holt International acknowledges this prudent action of the CCAA to protect children and families and safeguard the future of international adoption from China.
While SARS has created uncertainty, what has not changed is the urgent need for families to adopt children from China. Holt is recruiting for adoptive families and is accepting applications to adopt a child from China and other countries.
