Images can indeed be shown in your posts. However, there is no facility at present for uploading images directly to this board. Therefore you must link to an image stored on a publicly accessible web server, e.g.http://www.some-unknown-place.net/my-picture.gif. You cannot link to pictures stored on your own PC (unless it is a publicly accessible server) nor to images stored behind authentication mechanisms such as Hotmail or Yahoo mailboxes, password-protected sites, etc. To display the image use either the BBCode [img] tag or appropriate HTML (if allowed).
UPDATE 08.30.2005----------------------------------------------------------
The images used in the signature area, some avatars and images posted in the messages are too big. I don't mean just physically (though that is a problem too) I mean, too large in file size. I recommend keeping the images added to a post to less than 80KB in size. Anything over that is a slow load for dial-up or slow machines. The pictures in the signature areas should be as small as possible. 20KB or less and smaller than 240 pixels by 320 pixels would be ideal because that image loads everytime you post. When you post in the body of your message, keep your images no wider or taller than 480 pixels. Limit the size of the avatar image. It needs to be only 80 pixels by 80 pixels in physical size and I would like to see them below 13KB in file size.

After you've pressed New Topic or Post Reply, hover your mouse arrow over the buttons above the provided message window. Notice that instructions appear below showing you exactly what needs to be typed in order to post properly on this board. Float the mouse arrow over the IMG button above for instructions on posting images. The way images are posted here is nearly identical to the way it's done on the old ezboard.
When you're ready to post an image, click the PREVIEW box before clicking SUBMIT so you can see what your post will look like to make sure that your image is showing up properly. If it's not, then you'll have to scroll down to the provided edit window and edit your code and/or url and make sure it's correct. You can PREVIEW the post again and again until you get it right. This will eliminate empty posts.
If you click SUBMIT and the picture doesn't show up and you forgot to click PREVIEW first, then you can click your post and click EDIT to the left of your new post. This will take you to an edit window where you can correct your code and/or url. Notice that in the EDIT window, you get the PREVIEW box again.
REMEMBER.....USE THE PREVIEW box BEFORE your FINAL POST. We cannot stress this enough. This simple step will ultimately save you time and frustration.
Also, as a request, PLEASE HAVE some sort of EMAIL CONTACT INFO IN YOUR PROFILE. If you do not wish to have your main email account in your profile, create some kind of back-up email account for this purpose (hotmail or yahoo, for example). We'd like to handle any board discrepancies or problems privately in email rather than on the board.
Inappropriate posts of images or photos will be removed If a poster presists in posting inappropriate material, disiplinary action will be taken, up to and including being banned from the web forums. _________________ Brian
