Thanks everyone for the great advice! Our home visit went great! My 5 yr old son acted as tour guide for our social worker. Our interviews also went well. I am so glad to have that part of the process over with! Our social worker said it would be around 2 weeks for her to write up the home study. I hope it doesn't take her too long. Thanks for the encouragement you all give!! I am so glad to have this support!!

Hi there,
We just applied to the program the week before last after talking to Kelly @ Holt and we also just mailed the agreement last Monday. Does anyone know how long it takes to be officially accepted into the program? Do they call you or email you? Thanks so much!

Once everything was submitted to Holt we received a welcome email from the Thailand program just a couple weeks later. Hope you receive your acceptance soon. Best wishes as you start the process with this great program!

Hello all,

We just applied with Holt in April and we're working on the home study and dossier now. Our visit is scheduled for June 21rst. :) How long does it take after the visit for the home study to be done? We pretty much have all the paperwork in now, so that shouldn't hold us up.

Nice to meet everyone. :)

Katie and Robby,
Welcome!
Congrats on applying and joining the Thai group! A good estimate is about 5 months from application to being done with homestudy and dossier compilation. It may take 3 weeks to a month to get all your certifications and then get "in line". A lot depends on your situation on how long it may take...we had to get many states child abuse clearances since we moved a lot-so that held us up.

What gender and age are you going to be approved for?

Almost all of our paperwork is in to the home study agency and it all should be there by the time we have our visit. We also have almost all of the dossier paperwork we are responsible for. So I'm hoping once the home study is done and the agencies send us all their stuff for the dossier we can just slap it all together and work on the certification. :) We applied right after Holt reopened in April.

We have no children so we're open to either gender and we've requested under 2 years old, which sounds like most referrals are anyways.

Hi all, Well we turned in our authenticated dossier in May. We finally got our spot on the waiting list for our Daughter! It makes me so excited for the five families that just got the call that the referral of their child is here! At least while we wait, we know every three months we can rejoice with the other families!!!! I hope all of the other "new" families are doing good, and have had an easy wait so far!! Please let us know how your journey is progressing!!! Hope to hear from you all soon! :D
