Encouraging words.

We welcome those families who are taking part in one of Holt's newest programs in Uganda. Families with other agencies are also welcome

Encouraging words.

I just got off the phone with Pat Mcconnell and she was FAB! She assured me that the 4 families who still need their affidavits are at the top of their list. They are frustrated, as well, at the length of time it is taking to get our babies home and have sent a staff member (Robin) over to Kampala to get some answers for us. She just got there yesterday, and will be there "for quite a while." She will be getting as many answers for us as possible and reporting back as quickly as possible. It sounds like communication (both internet and phone) is pretty iffy. They were only able to communicate through text today. I think the nicer Hotels have wi-fi and high speed internet that is more reliable. We will be bringing our web-cams (pretty inexpensive) so we can also be in visual contact with our 4 kid-o's at home and so Joshua can see and talk with them too. I think that will require that we stay at the Sheraton or Hilton in order to have consistent communication with our fam back home... I don't think it would bode well with my little guys to not be able to talk to us for days on end. Anyway, Pat also said that there are 2 attorney offices that are working on our affidavits. Of the 2 families that have court dates, they both had different attorneys who completed their affidavits. So both offices are obviously working and getting affidavits completed. It sounds like Robin will soon be checking on the status of the 4 of us who have affidavits outstanding. Hopefully we will get an update on that (as well as our children!) soon! I was encouraged and hopeful after getting off the phone with Pat and even though she had no concrete answers as far as timing, I know that they are diligently working on our behalf to get our babies home ASAP! O.K. that's it. C'mon affidavits!!!!! :D

Thank you for that update. I had emailed Jen earlier this week and felt deflated after her response (or non-response... it was kind of "well, we're doing what we can").

Will have to look more into accommodations...

Great news!! I am praying for the 4 families left to get the affidavits. Its great to know that Pat and others are just as upset with the wait as the families :D

We made a decision to stay at the Sanyu Babies Home guesthouse. We know if it doesn't seem to work, that we could always switch. We haven't heard anything bad about it from other "Sanyu mommies".

Though internet is helpful.

Stay encouraged everyone, you date is coming soon!!
