It's actually better if you change it the way Malie suggested rather than creating a new account. Changing your user name allows for a seamless transition. By changing your user name rather than adding a new name, all of your posts will reflect your new user name, you will have all of your existing private messages, etc. There are also some downsides to creating a new account...when a new account gets created one of the moderators has to approve it and the system automatically subjects the account to moderation requiring the moderators to approve each of your posts until you reach a certain threshold (i.e. your posts won't automatically show up, and we will have to take time to review/approve each).
