Whheeeee! I'm so happy for you!
It looks like there is a light at the end of our tunnel, it's dim but it's there!!!! Clearly our tax guy was not experienced in this area so I called IRS directly with questions about the audit. Basically our tax guy wrote $22,000 for our adoption expenses; we don't know how he selected that number and can't believe we were not aware even though we think we read everything!!!!
Anywho, Holt had a great itemized list of our expenses and Lotus Travel had another great list! If only I had known to keep alllllll receipts in China I would have! But, it looks like our expenses for all three of us going to China to bring Daisy home came close to the amount if not a tad' beyond...The Lovely IRS woman told me to fax it all over and that either we will rcv' a check or requests for more info...I'm certain it will be a check at this point!
And to think this is all for our 2010 taxes, which took forever to file as it took forever to get Daisy's China name correct and a ssn! Oy! If I knew now what I needed to know then, I would have been much more firm in China when I SAW that Daisy's name was INCORRECT! And despite being told it would be corrected at POINT OF ENTRY, it was not!
In the end, I would beg, borrow n' steal a million if I had to in order to adopt my Delicious daughters so the fact that we get anything back blows me away!!!!!
Happy Friday.... Hopefully I'll get time to post a nice fun freebie on my
http://www.chinagirllove.blogspot.com today! I'm thinking I'll do little note cards for making all kinds of fun summer notations!!!! C
