Postby Baylesfamily2011 » Sat Sep 08, 2012 5:30 pm

Please give me gift ideas to take to China -- ???? EVERYTHING HERE IS MADE THERE!!!! Help!!!!

What are some things I could get? I really don't know where to start! I keep looking for things made in USA -- but it is a difficult task to find something!

We've taken Bath and Body works minis, bags of JellyBellies (both brands are made in the USA), and also shopped at our local "Made in Oregon" store for locally made gifts. We've given packages of scenic postcards, small photographic books representing our state, and commerative stamps since stamp collecting is a popular hobby in China.

Hi!
I bought only "made in USA" items. This is what I found:

Sharpie pens
Walmart brand post it notes (nice large, lined ones with a design on the side)
Slim Jims
Bicycle Playing cards
Potpurri packets (found at bed, bath and beyond)
MagLites
Ice Breakers gum
Bath and Body Works (like aophotography mentioned)
Sundown Naturals fish oil capsules
and...wiffle ball bat/ball (but my husband thought I was nuts on that one so I will not be bringing it!)

Good Luck Bayles family! Maybe we'll see you there!

Thanks so much! Sounds like I will see you both in China -- I am so excited -- but trying to stay occupied while we still wait on formalities!

I love the suggestions - I will start collecting them!

Go for it & take the wiffle ball/bat. We took some things like that for Micah when we went to Vietnam to bring home his sister. We knew there were tons of parks & thought it would be fun to have things to play with. We ended up leaving them with random strangers & at the orphanage! They were a huge hit (no pun intended!) :)

When we traveled in December we took locally made gourmet chocolates and they were a big hit We had no problems with them getting melty - at least the ones that I HAD to sample to make sure they were still good.
