We have a son!

Hi everyone,

I wanted to share the exciting news that my husband and I were just matched with a 15 month-old boy from VCT! He is "Hudson" who was featured on Holt's blog. We are beyond thrilled! We were previously #13 in the Thailand program, but because India just changed their adoption laws, we are old enough to adopt from India now!

Also, Michelle H, I think our son was friends with your son at VCT! Hardik's report specifically mentions that he likes to play with Nagaraj, who is one year older than him at VCT! Hardik transitioned to a foster home in November, so I'm not sure how much Nagaraj and Hardik get to see each other now, but I thought that was so neat!

I'll PM you where we live in the country, maybe they could meet someday!

Our current adoption is through the Korea program (cause that's where our daughter is =). But we started in the India program with Holt, so the girls let me stick around. They are kind and you will receive a ton of helpful support here. I love this board!!!

I'm sooo excited that Hardik has a home!! I seriously considered going to committee for him, but the timing just turned out to be wrong. He is a beautiful, wonderful little boy! I did quite a bit of research on his condition if you need anything I'd be glad to share. Feel assured that he is getting wonderful care!! I brought my daughter home from VCT a year and a half ago and she's amazing.

Congratulations! That is wonderful news! We just recently were matched with a little girl the same age at VCT. I'll race ya to India!

Thanks, Deb and Susan. Yes, he is B11_127. He's adorable, we can't get over it. We just got a more recent picture today, his hair keeps growing and he has these adorable brown curls.

Susan, it is so great to meet you! (I have to admit, I was praying the other families interested in him would not apply I know it all worked out the way it was supposed to. We promise to love him with everything we've got! I'm a nurse, so it wasn't too hard to get the info I needed on his condition, but if you found out anything really interesting or extraordinary, definitely let me know!

Hi Beth Anne, congratulations! How fun that one of Nagaraj' friends is also getting adopted! We are in Iowa but have a lot of family down South. Part of the fun of being on the forum is having other moms go to VCT and send back pictures of your child while you wait. So, hopefully, I'll be going over in the next 4-8 months and sending you pictures...keep in touch!

Sandwich, I've read your blog a few times, great stuff, you've got wonderful kids! The cool thing is, Chris and I are already in love with India because I spent 2 months at an orphanage in Rajasthan during college. Chris and I were dating at the time, and through the 3AM phone calls from India, he fell in love too. I cannot wait to show him India! Bangalore will be brand new to both of us, so we're looking forward to seeing it.

Congratulations!

Your son could not be in better hands while he waits for you! I wonder if he could even have the same foster family our daughter did...You will love Sylvia and Mary Paul at VCT. I just got back in August with a 22 month old daughter who was with the same foster mom since she was three days old. What an amazing foster family they were!

I posted about my trip to VCT under another thread: Path to Payal. A lot has changed recently, so hopefully, the courts are working more efficiently and will get your son home sooner. Do you have to make two trips instead of one now?

Hi Beth Anne!

I'm so sorry I didn't reply sooner. I've been busy making travel plans and haven't logged on here all week.

Sandwich and I are leaving next Friday for India! I'll get to spend some time with Naveen on the 23rd and then we have our court date on the 24th. Then we'll head back home and wait out the 2 months until we can go back. Hopefully he'll be home by mid-May.

Good luck with your process. I hope everything goes super quick for you!
