Hi Jennifer,

I am sure you don't remember us, but I saw your photo with your post here and I thought that I am sure you were in China when my husband and I were there to get our son. (Dec. 2009) We were given an older boy, Sean who is three. I am so glad to see a family that I recognized, post how they were doing. We are doing great now too. Sean is doing wonderful. He has adjusted to his new family so well and has a lot of new friends. We came to China to get a child that had a language delay, however, he is picking up English so fast, that we have no trouble understanding his needs at this time. I would love to show you current pictures of Sean and us now, so feel free to e-mail us. If you are having trouble placing us. Just look at your "red couch" photo; Sean is the child who was holding the Winnie the Pooh Bear :) Take care and I look forward to hearing from soon.

You have beautiful children and I love reading your updates on your family blog when I have a chance. I agree with the previous commenter...I think your story gives more of an insight to children on the waiting child list.

What a beautiful story, thanks for sharing Brett. I hope your story gives other families the courage to look at the COP and WC programs. I think it is fear of the unknown that is keeping many from taking that step.

We are just weeks away from traveling to Kunming to pick up our baby boy. His brother and sisters here at home have been waiting over a year to meet him. I cannot even imagine what it will feel like to finally have him in our arms!!!

The language barrier solution is on the internet.

Google search "Mandarin to English" or "Cantonese to English". Click on some of the free translation links to find one that you can use.

Select English to Mandarin or Cantonese, enter what you want to say and then hit "translate". The translation appears below.

Have Autumn enter what she wants to say in her language and then hit the "translate" button. The english translation appears below.

It may be tedious at first, but some comunication is better than none at all.

Furthermore, scan her journal into your computer if able. Then highlight some text, copy it (ctrl C) and then paste it (ctrl V) into the translation website. Then hit the translate button to convert to English.

Give it a try, you have nothing to lose and all to gain.

Hope this helps.

Beth,
Matt asks for a little brother all the time. What I wouldn't give if they would only consider me for a little boy from China! I'd be there in a minute. Rosemary

The boys are just as precious and deserving of a loving home! Any families that have been through the process of adopting a boy, I would love to have the opportunity to chat and ask questions as we are interested in adopting a little angel, too.
