Search Services: By law, birth parents and adoptees may search for each other after the adoptee reaches the age of 18. If an adoptee is under the age of 18, parent may request a search for physical or mental information. Holt can provide adoptees adopted through Holt International Children's Services with background information available in their adoption file and assist with searches, if requested. Please contact Holt's Post adoption Services Program for information about these services.
Background Information: If you were adopted through Holt International Children's Services in the United States, Holt can provide copies of your file and other adoption related documents. Often information is available about orphanages and other settings where adoptees may have lived. Information about the broader cultural and historical forces at work in adoption may help all parties understand the birth parent's decision.
