Why is little birth family medical history available to most international adoptees?
|
|
The circumstances surrounding how the adoptee came into care, the services available to the birth family at the relinquishment site, and the cultural beliefs and social practices associated with the origin, recognition and management of health and illness in the adoptees' birth countries are the primary reasons for the lack of much information for most adoptees.
