Confidential Intermediary Services FAQs

1. What are confidential intermediary services?
This service permits confidential exchanges of information between birth parents and adoptees and/or adoptive parents, while protecting everyone's identifying information.
2. Who may use confidential intermediary services?
Any birth parent, adoptee, or adoptive parents whose adoption was facilitated by Holt may use this service.
3. Do birth parents have to be in contact with the agency for an adoptee or adoptive parents to use this service?
No. If birth parents are not known or not currently available, adoptive parents and adoptees may send letters through us to the file in the birth country. They will be available there for the birth parent if she or he comes forward.
4. What kind of information can be included? May we send photos, small gifts, or dvds? Where do we send our packet?
Please contact the Post Adoption Services program for detailed information. Your contact with us is confidential.
